EXAMINATION PROCEDURE

ORAL EXAMINATION

The examinee should arrive at the designated place 30 min. prior to the exact time indicated in the notification sent by the Examination Center via e-mail.

Prior to the commencement of the exam, the examinee is obliged to switch off his or her mobile phone and store it out of reach.

The examinee is obliged to provide evidence of his or her identity prior to the beginning of the examination by means of a document with a photograph enabling authentic identification, which could be: an identity card, a passport, a student card, a new type of driving licence or residency permit. Documents of identification are to be presented to one of the examiners.

Oral exams will be recorded, upon examinee’s prior consent. If the candidate did not consent to the recording of his or her oral exam, the board of examiners shall include a third member.

Following the introductory conversation, the examinee choses a topic featuring three tasks.

Following the conclusion of the examination, the examination board submits evaluation sheets to the Profex Exam Centre, oral examination results will be displayed by the Profex Exam Centre with the examinees’ code numbers

LISTENING COMPREHENSION

Examinees should arrive at the designated place 30 min. prior to the exact time indicated in the notification by the Examination Centre via e-mail.

The examinee is obliged to provide evidence of his or her identify prior to the beginning of the examination by means of a document with a photograph enabling authentic identification, which could be: an identity card, a passport, a student card, a new type of driving licence or residency permit and also present the notification with his or her code number sent via e-mail by the Examination Center.

Prior to the commencement of the exam, examinees are obliged to switch off their mobile phones and store it out of reach.

At the exam site, the first and the last candidate verifies with a signature that all exam packages are correctly sealed and intact (they have not been opened, torn or damaged in any way) and that they are opened at the given examination site at the given time.  

Examinees must enter their code number onto the envelopes containing the exam tasks including all task sheets and papers they use. The Examination Center does not take responsibility for exam task sheets without a code or for those bearing a wrong code number. Examinees should not put their names on the envelopes, task sheets or any of the papers they use.

Formal requirements:

The tasks of the listening comprehension component must be completed with a pen. Examination tasks completed with a pencil will not be assessed. In serving their own best interests, examinees should present legible handwriting.

At the conclusion of the examination, examinees should finish writing and invigilators collect the envelopes from each examinee after ensuring all code numbers have been entered correctly and the envelopes contain all the exam task sheets. Examinees are not allowed to leave the room until this procedure is completed.

An examinee risks being expelled for seeking, using or offering help to fellow examinees. 

WRITTEN PART

On being called in and seated in the room, the examinee is obliged to provide evidence of his or her identify prior to the beginning of the examination by means of a document with a photograph enabling authentic identification, such as any of the following: an identity card, a passport, a student card, a new type of driving licence or residency permit including the notification with his or her code number sent via e-mail by the Examination Center.

In the written examination component, only printed mono- or bilingual dictionaries may be used, the use of printed word-lists is also allowed. Examinees who are seen using any other supplementary material risk being expelled.

  • Examination tasks must be completed with a pen. Examination tasks completed with a pencil will not be assessed.
  • Examinees are requested to leave 2 cm margins on both sides for purposes of correction.
  • Examinees are requested to complete the letter writing task and the translation task on separate sheets.
  • Examinees are requested to complete the reading comprehension task exclusively on the task sheet provided.
  • Regarding the reading comprehension task, only those answers are accepted which appear in the spaces provided. No corrections to the answers are accepted, any correction shall make the answer void.
  • In serving their own best interests, examinees should present legible handwriting. Any drafts written during the written examination component shall be handed in. These shall not be assessed. Examinees are requested to indicate on these papers that these are drafts.

Examinees are only allowed to leave the room due to medical reasons which the examinee should indicate towards the invigilators by raising his or her hand. Upon leaving the room, the invigilator collects the task sheets from the examinee and returns them when he or she returns. The exact time of the examinee’s leave and return has to be recorded on the List of Attendees.

At the end of the examination, as indicated by the invigilators (17.00 pm.), examinees finish writing the exam and invigilators collect the envelops from each examinee after checking that code numbers have been properly entered, and the envelopes contain all the exam task sheets. Examinees are not allowed to leave the room until this procedure is completed.

The examinee may be expelled if he or she uses any other than a printed dictionary or any supplementary material, if he or she provides help for any other examinee, if he or she does not switch off his or her mobile phone, or if he or she hands anything over to another examinee.

Examinees are kindly requested to approach the invigilators with any questions or potential problems.
